I wasn't sure what to expect for this book. I read the first book with Sergey and Sasha and enjoyed it but I could put it down when I wanted to. This book I found very hard to put down once I started it. These two men lives were just flipped topsy turvy. The virus that was created and then hidden away. The turmoil for Sergey Presidency. Sasha training for NASA. So much happening that you had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. I found myself reading to the wee hours in the morning and then had to turn around and work the next day. Though I had several chapters left. I did finally give up the ghost for sleep. But came right back to the story after I was done at work. This story just grabbed you and wouldn't let you go. Loved how these two worked through the scrap that was thrown at them. Then bring Jack and Ethan back through out the story was perfect to keep everyone abreast of what they were up to. Love it. Can't wait to see what happens next for this crew. This is not like any other book you’ll read about space. It completely blew my mind, and my emotions, beyond my wildest expectations. Stars played like a movie scene on every page. It’s a fast paced, adrenaline fueled, highly emotional book that demands to be read straight through. Which I did, twice.This is book two of the Executive Power series. You do not have to read book one, Ascendent, to get completely pulled in to Stars. But I think knowing the background increases the impact. Also, our beloved favorites from the Executive Office series have quite a role in Stars. It’s absolutely impossible to have too much of that crew.I really didn’t think anything would make me love Sasha and Sergey more, and it’s safe to say that Stars did. Their love is literally written in the stars, and it’s a beautiful thing.The scene building, research, and detail that went into this book is seriously impressive. It’s something I’ve come to expect from Tal Bauer, and he did not disappoint.
